Hannah and John’s wedding is a special wedding for me. This is the first wedding that I booked last year under my personal photography business even before I had it incorporated. Hannah contacted me last summer to see if I would be available to shoot hers and John’s wedding. I was down for it right away! I have been shooting weddings as part of other companies for the last 3 years but this was the first time I decided to go ahead and actually shoot one under my own name.
This wedding was really unique because John is a member of the police force and so we had access to perks that normally would not happen. The day started at the Bride’s location and my other team headed over to the Groom’s house. The groom’s party was picked up by a limo and then they headed over to the bride’s hotel for the first look. Since we were already downtown, the couple decided to have photos taken at Gastown. This is where things get interesting.
As it turns out, the groom contacted one of his colleagues who was on duty and got him to divert traffic! We were able to shoot on the streets of Gastown without any worry of cars being in the way! Definitely something I don’t think I’ll get the chance to do again. We quickly did the street photos and then finished off with the groom and bride at other locations in Gastown.
The ceremony was held at the groom’s church. After the Ceremony, we got some shots with a vintage cop car! You might remember this car from the Engagement Photos we took from a previous blog post. Afterwards, we headed off to the reception hall and finished the day off with a night full of dancing and Photobooth Photos (By the way, if you were at the wedding and haven’t already seen the photobooth photos, you can find them here: Photobooth Pictures)
Congratulations Hannah and John!
