I had the opportunity to shoot the wedding of my long time family friend, Rio, and her now husband, Kevin. Our families have been friends since I was a kid, so this wedding was not only special for the bride and groom’s family, but for my family as well.
I started the day off at the bride’s home. Rio got her makeup done and then the bridesmaids helped her into her beautiful wedding dress. It was a very relaxed and easy going atmosphere. The ladies even got in a quick lunch before they needed to head out.
I headed off to the church and met up with the groom there. It was nice to see so many familiar faces as our circle of friends and family are very close. Seeing Kevin’s face full of love and happiness as he watched Rio come down the aisle was very endearing. The ceremony ended and the newlyweds mingled with the guests for a bit before we headed off to take photos.
The reception was being held in Langley and so we decided to take photos by Fort Langley. The sun was setting very fast but we were able to get some nice shots in.
One thing that stuck out to me the whole night was how Kevin was absolutely fixated on Rio. You can really tell just by the look on his face when he sees Rio just how much he loves her. Rio expressed her love in return by serenading her new husband at the reception with her own rendition of “grow old with you”. I’m absolutely thrilled and happy for Rio and can’t think of anyone better to match up with her. Congratulations Rio and Kevin!
